The Toronto Zoo is Canada’s premier zoo and one of the largest zoos in the world with over 710 acres and 10 km of walking trails. The Toronto Zoo is Canada’s national leader in saving wildlife to ensure the rich diversity of nature for future generations. The Zoo has many accessible features including accessible parking spaces, all pavilions are wheelchair accessible, free wheelchairs, automated entry systems on washroom and pavilion doors, ramps in lieu of stairs, washrooms for people with special needs, accessible seats available on rides such as Zoomobile and carousel rides (standard ride fees will apply) and reserved wheelchair spaces in our Waterside Theatre.

In addition, the Zoo has an admission package for people with disabilities whereby a guest with a disability receives a 50% admission discount and, if required, one accompanying support worker receives complimentary admission.

Please be advised that there are steep grades on the site and some of the gradual grades do not meet current accessibility standards. In particular, access to the Canadian Domain is via a steep hill and is not recommended for guests in wheelchair or on electric scooter. The Toronto Zoo has plans to relocate the Canadian exhibits to the tableland to be more accessible. The Zoo evaluates the accessibility of our buildings and grounds on an on-going basis to improve the experience for all our guests.

Toronto Zoo's Accessible Guest Service Policy, Procedures and Practices have been developed to fulfill the requirements of the Ontario Regulation 429/07, Accessibility Standards for Customer Service. This document is available upon request at Guest Services. For more information about accessibility and special needs services, call (416) 392-5932.
